Stampin' Up! Tools

Last week we talked about stamps and inking your stamps. Today I would like to introduce Stampin' Up! tools that will make your paper crafting easier and more enjoyable. Along with quality cardstock and stamps you will also need good tools like cutting instruments and adhesives. Stampin Up have a range of adhesives, these are important for your overall project because you don't want to put all your love into creating your handmade card and have it fall apart. I have put a list of the ones available and also a chart of their best uses.
Adhesives come in many types. Some are better than others for certain things but it comes down to whatever you feel comfortable using.

ADHESIVES:
Tear & Tape - double sided
Snail Adhesive - double sided roller tape
Multipurpose Liquid Glue - liquid glue that dries clear, has a fine tip and a broad tip. Gives you a little movement when placing your paper down
Glue Dots - instant dots of adhesive. Great for embellishments and ribbon

DIMENSIONALS:
Are another type of adhesive, they are foam octagonal shapes that are sticky on both sides. They adhere images or punched out items onto your paper craft projects giving them a raised up effect. There are small and large ones available.

BONE FOLDER:
These are used to burnish your cardstock (help make the folds flatter without stressing the cardstock) as well as scoring lines for folding.

SCISSORS:Paper snips - small scissors but sharp. Great for more delicate trimming or for cutting out a stamped image or pictures from a larger sheet, commonly called 'fussy cutting'.

RULER:Recommend a ruler with both imperial (inches) and metric (cms). Also our Grid Paper has measurements on both sides. This paper is also great for protecting your workspace and using as a desk pad.

TAKE YOUR PICK:Multipurpose tool for picking up sequins, embellishments etc with the puffy end. Other end has changeable, double ended tips with paper piercer, mini spatula, small stylus and large stylus. It also now comes with a die brush attachment that removes small cut pieces from dies.

Stampin' Up! had a Stampin' Up trimmer but due to quality issues they discontinued selling them a few months ago. They are in the process of designing a new and better paper cutter. I will keep you posted.

Diamond Flip Fold Card

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I found this fun fold card while searching Pinterest the other day, it is called a Diamond Flip Card. It took me a bit to work out the measurements in cms but once I did I was able to make a few of them in a row. For these cards I used the Art Floral Designer Series Paper as the paper is so beautiful and makes me feel like an artist when I use it. I also used the technique of using Stampin Write Markers to colour in the stamp and get a water colour effect. Check out the details below and I look forward to seeing your version of this card. **The card base: cut a piece of cardstock (I used So Saffron) at 10.5 on the short side. Fold piece in half and burnish with bone folder. **Score one end at 5.3cm. Now place the open ends on the trimmer and find the middle, make a pencil. With pencil and ruler measure from the middle to the score line on each side. Using trimmer or scissors cut along the pencil line on each side to form a triangle shape. **With...

Thank you for stopping by today. I have this wonderful handmade card to share with you today using the Love of Leaves Bundle. The stamp set has some wonderful leaf images and some small sentiments that are great for front of a card or inside. I was very happy to be involved with the Autumn Mega Tutorial Bundle that includes this stamp set along with the other Autumn themed stamp sets from the Mini Catalogue. To find out how you can get your hands on 82 tutorials click here. NOTE: This card is not one of the tutorials as those cards are exclusive to the bundle and you will not see them online from demonstrators, you can of course show off your creations that you make from it. The card base is a portrait fold, Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 10.5cm x 29.6cm. Score and burnish at 14.9cm For the first layer, I combined Early Espresso 9.4 x 13.8cm and Gilded Autumn Speciality DSP 9 x 12.4cm. Adhere together with Stampin Seal and then adhere to card base. The second layer is Early Espresso 12.4...
