Peaceful Poppies

Hi lovely

Welcome to my Weekly Inspirational Wednesday blog. Every week I will post a card with basic instructions that you are welcome to CASE (copy and selectively edit).

This weeks card is a lovely colourful card as I needed something to cheer me up this week. Its the third week of lock down and the walls are starting to move in and days are blending into one another. But my saving grace is my craft room and card making. Going through my Designer Series Paper I found my left over Peaceful Poppies DSP and created this full of joy card.

CARD RECIPE

*The card base is from the Magnolia Lane Cards & Envelopes.
*Peaceful Poppies DSP is cut at 15.2 x 10.2cm
*Wrap the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the DSP twice adhereing with snail tape. Then tie a bow and adhere with glue dot to the ribbon.
*Using the Label Me Lovely Punch, punch out one using Real Red Cardstock.
*Then stamp Happy Birthday image on Whisper White Cardstock with Night Of Navy ink and punch out.
*Cut the Real Red label in half and glue behind the Whisper White with a border. Adhere the label to the DSP using dimensionals.

I hope you've enjoyed my project today and that you're inspired to get crafty! Remember if you are starting on your crafting journey, Keep It Simple (KISS), PLUS have fun!!

Card Layers

Welcome back to my blog. Last week I did a post on how to cut cardstock to get your card bases and to make the most out of your cardstock. Now that you have that down pat the next step is layering your card bases. The easiest and most effective layering is using Designer Series Paper. Stampin' Up have a variety of  double sided patterned paper which they call Designer Series Paper  (DSP). The paper can be used for layering and the gorgeous images can also be fussy cut out to put on your card. When I started out making my cards I played around with layers and made templates of the ones that worked for me. Templates make creating cards somewhat easier as you don't have to remember the measurements. Have fun and don't be afraid to try out different layers. To start off cut your DSP to flush with your card base then cut smaller ones that work for you. Then add your sentiment and embellishments and you have a beautiful handmade card. Next week I will show some of my ...
