Card Layers

Welcome back to my blog.

Last week I did a post on how to cut cardstock to get your card bases and to make the most out of your cardstock.

Now that you have that down pat the next step is layering your card bases.

The easiest and most effective layering is using Designer Series Paper. Stampin' Up have a variety of  double sided patterned paper which they call Designer Series Paper (DSP). The paper can be used for layering and the gorgeous images can also be fussy cut out to put on your card.

When I started out making my cards I played around with layers and made templates of the ones that worked for me. Templates make creating cards somewhat easier as you don't have to remember the measurements. Have fun and don't be afraid to try out different layers.

To start off cut your DSP to flush with your card base then cut smaller ones that work for you. Then add your sentiment and embellishments and you have a beautiful handmade card.
Next week I will show some of my templates. To not miss out sign up and get notified in your mail box.

If you are new to paper crafting and would like one on one help with your journey into card making then contact me today. I would love to show you how much fun it is and the enjoyment you can get from creating with your hands.

Happy Crafting.

Diamond Flip Fold Card

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I found this fun fold card while searching Pinterest the other day, it is called a Diamond Flip Card. It took me a bit to work out the measurements in cms but once I did I was able to make a few of them in a row. For these cards I used the Art Floral Designer Series Paper as the paper is so beautiful and makes me feel like an artist when I use it. I also used the technique of using Stampin Write Markers to colour in the stamp and get a water colour effect. Check out the details below and I look forward to seeing your version of this card. **The card base: cut a piece of cardstock (I used So Saffron) at 10.5 on the short side. Fold piece in half and burnish with bone folder. **Score one end at 5.3cm. Now place the open ends on the trimmer and find the middle, make a pencil. With pencil and ruler measure from the middle to the score line on each side. Using trimmer or scissors cut along the pencil line on each side to form a triangle shape. **With...
