Christmas Plaid

Today's card is a quick easy Christmas card using the Wrapped In Plaid Suite which has a gorgeous Pine Tree punch. One of the tools I love in Stampin' Up! are the punches. They are small but versatile and can be carried around with you to different locations. Stampin' Up! punches come in a variety of shapes, builder punches and compliment some stamp sets. Check them out on page 186 of Annual Catalogue. *The base for this card is Cherry Cobbler card stock. *Punch out three trees from Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper. This Designer Series Paper comes in 6" x 6" size, 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double sided. The papers have gold foil accents on some of the designs. Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper *The trees are placed on Whisper White card stock with dimensionals. Then place a faceted star from the Star Designer Elements in the Brightly Gleaming Suite on top of one of the trees.  The Merry Christmas is embossed with Stampin...

Healing Thoughts

Beauty Abounds This week I had a couple of friends that were going through some tough times, so I wanted to send them something to let them know I was thinking of them. These types of cards are hard to create sometimes but using Beauty Abounds and Well Said stamps made it easier. Hopefully this card will put a smile on their faces. . *I used Pretty Peacock cardstock for the base of the card and also for the large panel. For layering help see my previous post on Matting & Layering. *Whisper White panel is embossed with Subtle 3D folder. *I stamped the floral image twice with Memento Ink on Whisper White cardstock and then coloured around the image with Pretty Peacock blend. *Using our Stitched Circle dies I made a small circle.  *The butterfly is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and fussy cut out and then adhered to circle with dimensionals. *The sentiment is from Well Said stamp set which has 51 cling stamps, sentiments for all occasions. * This card w...

Bird Ballad Suite

Free As A Bird Today's card is created using the Bird Ballad Suite. The suite includes the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin with 12 Laser-cut cards + 12 envelopes. These make creating beautiful handmade cards so easy. I used a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper for the background.  Using our 2 1/4 circle punch I punched out a circle in Mossy Meadow Cardstock this corresponds with the colour in the Designer Series Paper which I punched out using the Starburst Punch. The sentiment is from the Free As A Bird stamp set and stamped in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White Cardstock adhered to Mossy Meadow Cardstock and cut in a flag shape.  The ribbon for the bow is using Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack. WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY - 5 OCTOBER 2019 World Card Making Day is celebrated all around the world on 5 October. The best way to celebrate Card Making Day is, of course to learn how to make your own cards! Find a class that is local to you  or find a stamp club that you can join. Don't be intimidated by some of the cards on Pinterest or Facebook, remember everyone started somewhere. The only limit to your cards is your imagination, so let your creativity fly and send your friends and family a personalized handmade card today. I wanted to create a card for World Card Making Day with the stamp set 'Natures Beauty' as this stamp set is one that Stampin' Up! are donating $4.50 of each purchase in NZ to Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. Crafting has been shown to decrease anxiety and depression so combining the two for this day is appropriate. It has also been shown to stimulate the release of dopamine in the brain - whatever makes you happy makes you stronger. ...
